Scent Work is a dog sport based on the work of professional detection dogs (such as drug dogs, explosives dogs, and search and rescue dogs), where dog and handler teams search for cotton swabs saturated with essential oil. Scent Work is a wonderful activity for ANY dog - big and small, confident and shy, old and young - even dogs who are blind or deaf can play. And EVERY dog can benefit from the mental and physical activity of doing something all dogs love to do, sniff!
SWCSD's mission is to facilitate the growth of Scent Work and other scent sports in San Diego, by conducting classes, workshops, seminars, matches, trials, and other activities for dog and handler teams from beginners to long-time exhibitors.
